Week 1 - Learning to work together

It has been a busy first couple of days in Room 1. We have been doing lots of learning together in our new classroom. In Tinana (PE) we have been doing team building activities to identify our strengths and weaknesses and reflecting on how we can improve.

On Wednesday we unpacked our Whakatauki  with Koka Tangi which is 'Manaaki Whenua, Manaaki Tangata, haere whakamua' which means, care for the land, care for the people, go forward. We did a bus stop activity where the students unpacked what this meant in small groups and shared back with the class.

The students have also had the opportunity to learn in different spaces in the classroom, they are able to make choices about the places they work best, e.g. desks, kneeling tables, jelly bean table and in quiet spaces.
